BEIRUT — The Souraya in Nicolas Khoury’s 2025 documentary “Souraya, Mon Amour” is the widow of renowned Lebanese filmmaker Maroun Baghdadi (1950-1993). Audiences learn her views on the exalted reputation of her husband before she appears in the frame.“When you talk about this ‘genius,’ about me living with a ‘genius,’ it makes me itch,” says Baghdadi, her voice arising from the dark. “I don’t want to be depicted in this light, a widow who bows before her ‘genius’ partner ...
