The vice president of Hezbollah’s Political Council, Mahmoud Comati, predicted that a "popular tsunami" will sweep away "the Lebanese government and its sins" after the end of the ongoing war between Israel and the party since March 2.

Speaking Friday on the pro-Iranian group’s channel, al-Manar, Comati shared his vision for the coming phase: "What I anticipate, to be precise, is a popular tsunami that will sweep away this government, its political sins and the path it follows, after the end of the war."

These statements come as Lebanon prepares for direct negotiations with Israel next week in Washington, with the aim of ending the armed conflict. Reacting to these developments, Hezbollah chief Naim Kassem on Friday called on Lebanese authorities to "stop making free concessions," while insisting that "the resistance will continue until our last breath."

According to Comati, if Hezbollah is victorious, then the government will face two options. The first would be to "apologize to the Lebanese people and the resistance, cancel all negative decisions taken against it regarding weapons or other issues, and then move toward an agreement on a defense strategy aimed at protecting Lebanon."

He added that his group "would come to an understanding with the government, which would then become a partner in victory." On the other hand, he warned against a second scenario "if this government persists in its negative choice, by opposing the resistance and sinking further into submission to American, Israeli, European, and Arab dictates." This path, he cautioned, "would lead the country toward discord and chaos."

Comati also stressed that Hezbollah currently considers itself to be in a position of strength. "We say (to the government): come for dialogue and they do not want to do so. These two options are inevitable. We are victorious today," he said. The Political Council vice president also praised the situation on the ground, paying tribute to the "fighters and heroes of the South."

The Israeli army has taken control of part of southern Lebanon and systematically demolished border villages. Along the coast, it has captured Bayyada and Chamaa, about 8 kilometers from the border. It has entered Bint Jbeil, where it is fighting party-militia fighters, and has also advanced in several eastern towns where it has reinforced its positions in recent weeks.
