The Ministry of Public Works and Transport on Sunday denied reports circulating in the morning about a closure of Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport and the suspension of flights after direct threats to Lebanese airspace.
The airport is operating normally, no decision has been made to close it or suspend air traffic, and no flights have been canceled, the ministry confirmed.
Contacted by L'Orient Today, a source at the airport also said that operations were continuing as usual.
Since the start of the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel on March 2, most flights to and from Beirut have been canceled, except for those operated by the national carrier Middle East Airlines (MEA), which continues to operate despite the war.
