The Israeli military said Sunday it no longer accepts "half-measures" or the "old equations" in Lebanon, saying the Lebanese state had "failed in its tasks, neither disarming Hezbollah nor preventing Iranian entrenchment."
"We are facing a historic moment to shape a new security reality, the impact of which extends from Tehran to Beirut. Our goal is to undermine the Iranian terrorist regime and eliminate the existential threats facing our citizens," army Arabic-language spokesperson Ella Waweya said on X.
The message added that the army has targeted more than 100 infrastructures in Iran, including ballistic missile factories, launch platforms and air defense systems, as well as 170 "terrorist" targets in Lebanon, while eliminating more than 850 militants since the start of the fighting.
"Today, we are striking the head of the octopus in Iran and cutting off its tentacles in Lebanon," the spokesperson concluded.
