SOUTH LEBANON — Several Israeli vehicles and tanks of are advancing toward the Christian village of Dibil (Bint Jbeil), about 5 km from the border with Israel, reports our correspondent in South Lebanon.
Hezbollah has said it targeted gatherings of Israeli soldiers in this locality several times, according to separate statements.
"The Israeli army is near our village, as well as those of Qawzah and Aita al-Shaab. We don't dare poke our heads out. It's war, no one understands anything," a resident of Dibil told our publication. "There is nothing here that should scare anyone," another resident said.
Earlier in the day, Israeli artillery fire targeted a house in Dibil, injuring two people, according to information from our correspondent.
The military escalation between Israel and Hezbollah on the ground reached a new level overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday in South Lebanon, where the Israeli army is trying to make advances, particularly in Qawzah, one of the villages it has been attempting to penetrate for several days.
Qawzah is located at around 750 meters elevation, in Bint Jbeil district, along with Naqoura, in Sour district and Khiam, in Marjayoun district.
In this context, the Israeli army said it was "widening the scope of strikes as well as its ground activity in Lebanon," according to sources within the army cited by Israeli radio KAN.
"We have received no instructions to stop," the sources said, amid reported talks between Iran and the United States to end the regional war.
These attacks are taking place as Israel seeks to isolate southern Lebanon by bombing strategic bridges and emptying it of its residents.
