BEIRUT — After carrying out eleven strikes on the southern suburb of Beirut overnight Thursday into Friday, the Israeli military said it targeted the "executive council headquarters" of Hezbollah as well as a drone warehouse.
These strikes came just hours after an unprecedented evacuation order for four neighborhoods in the area south of the capital, leading to a mass exodus.
In a message on X, the Arabic-speaking spokesperson for the Israeli military, Avichay Adraee, claimed responsibility for 26 strikes on the southern suburb of Beirut since the escalation in Lebanon began late Sunday night, specifying that Hezbollah "military infrastructure" was bombed.
He added that the military had already destroyed Hezbollah’s "headquarters" and "10 buildings housing" military assets.
Regarding the wave of strikes the previous night, the spokesperson said they hit Hezbollah's "executive council headquarters" and a warehouse where drones were stored.
"The Israeli military will not allow any harm to the citizens of the State of Israel and is acting forcefully against Hezbollah, which has chosen to join the fight under the auspices of the Iranian regime," the military official emphasized.
