What L'Orient Today has learnedFrench President Emmanuel Macron is taking the initiative to obtain a cease-fire in Lebanon, so far without results.The French president called Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu and sent the French army's chief of staff to Beirut with a proposal calling for an immediate halt to fighting by Hezbollah in exchange for an end to Israeli military operations.
