Lebanon: Macron pushes for cease-fire, meets Israeli rejection
Tel Aviv wants guarantees from Hezbollah that it will not carry out any further attacks in the future, as well as a public statement renouncing its weapons — conditions the group refuses.

What L'Orient Today has learnedFrench President Emmanuel Macron is taking the initiative to obtain a cease-fire in Lebanon, so far without results.The French president called Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu and sent the French army's chief of staff to Beirut with a proposal calling for an immediate halt to fighting by Hezbollah in exchange for an end to Israeli military operations.
