Al-Sahel Hospital, in Beirut’s southern suburbs and located within the area threatened by Israel, has been temporarily closed and its patients transferred to other hospitals in Beirut, the new head of the Syndicate of Hospital Owners, Dr. Pierre Yared, confirmed to L’Orient-Le Jour.
Another facility, Bahman Hospital, also in the southern suburbs, is currently being evacuated, he added.
According to Dr. Yared, no other hospitals are currently on the list of facilities to be evacuated. Asked about the treatment of the wounded, he said that, for now, hospitals in the affected regions – in southern Lebanon and in the Bekaa – remain able to treat casualties in their respective areas, and that no transfers to Beirut have yet been necessary.
