Fida Bizri on the 'Green Line': Born amid gunfire, confronting warlords
The documentary "Green Line," directed by Sylvie Ballyot and co-written with the Lebanese author based on her story, opens Wednesday in theaters across France.

Fida Bizri was born in Beirut in April 1975, just as the city was spiraling into civil war, long referred to as "the events." Fifty years later, she looks back at the little girl who grew up in this hostile environment as she co-writes a movie about her life. The Lebanon release is planned for May 2026.In "Green Line," referring to the invisible line that split the capital in two for over fifteen years, the Lebanese researcher, linguist, and multidisciplinary artist leads us to encounters with warlords, unmasked and belonging to a cross-section of factions involved. Surprisingly, they speak quite freely about the massacres committed.
