Two separate Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon killed two people on Monday in another stark violation of the November 2024 cease-fire agreement signed between Israel and Hezbollah.

A man, identified as the driver of a school van he was about to start in order to go to work, was killed Monday morning in an Israeli drone strike in Hanine (Bint Jbeil) district of southern Lebanon, according to sources from our local correspondent.

According to these reports, the vehicle was parked in front of a building when it was targeted.

The Israeli army, for its part, released a statement on the strike it carried out in Hanine in the morning, claiming to have "eliminated a Hezbollah member" who was working on "the reconstruction of military infrastructure" for the party in southern Lebanon.

In the statement, Arabic-language spokesperson for the army, Ella Waouia, said that last week "forces of the 91st Division eliminated three other members" for the same reason, and "destroyed several buildings and construction equipment" used for "terrorist purposes" against Israel.

A "warning" strike was also carried out Monday by an Israeli army drone near a backhoe in Maaroub [Sour district], without causing any casualties.

In addition, earlier at dawn Israeli soldiers infiltrated the area between Aita al-Shaab and Ramaya (Bint Jbeil) and demolished a house there, according to our correspondent.

In the afternoon, while ministers were meeting at the Baabda Presidential Palace to hear Lebanese Army Commander Rodolph Haykal discuss the implementation of the second phase of Hezbollah's disarmament, an Israeli drone targeted a car in Tallousa (Marjayoun), killing one person.

The Lebanese Army is also undertaking repairs on the road leading to the so-called "al-Hadab" hill in Aita al-Shaab, where it previously maintained a military position, in preparation for redeployment to this post.

Under the terms of the November 2024 cease-fire, the army is to redeploy in the border area with Israel, fully disarm Hezbollah in that zone, and then proceed to dismantle its arsenal in the rest of the country.

On Sunday evening, after a relatively calm day, the Israeli army targeted a vehicle in the Majdal Anjar area, in the Bekaa, near the Masnaa border crossing, killing four people, according to our correspondent in the area.

The deputy spokesperson for the Israeli army said on X that it had targeted members of Islamic Jihad.

According to information from our correspondent, the bombed car was a taxi registered in Syria.

The driver, a Syrian, was killed in the strike, along with three Palestinians who were in the vehicle. They have not yet been identified, and DNA tests are underway.
