Prime Minister Nawaf Salam arrived in Dubai on Monday for the World Government Summit, as reported by the Grand Serail on its X account. He was welcomed by the UAE Minister of Health, Abdulrahman bin Mohammed al-Owais, who also serves as Minister of State for the UAE Federal National Council.
Salam was also welcomed by Lebanon's ambassador to Abu Dhabi, Tareq Mneimeh, and the United Arab Emirates ambassador to Beirut, Fahd al-Kaabi.
The event, held in the Emirates' largest city from Feb. 3 to 5, brings together more than 35 heads of state, high-level official delegations, and representatives from more than 150 governments, according to AFP.
The summit will also host major international companies and leading institutions, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. Launched in 2013, the summit has become an annual event.
Meanwhile, Lebanese Information Minister Paul Morcos traveled to Doha, Qatar, for the third edition of Web Summit Qatar 2026, focused on the technology sector.
According to the state-run National News Agency (NNA), Morcos is set to speak during a session titled "Democracy Under Pressure," dedicated to ways to "strengthen digital culture, support reliable sources of information, and combat disinformation, exacerbated by artificial intelligence, in order to preserve public trust and democratic values."
