Hajjar: Security cooperation between Lebanon, Bahrain a priority

Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar, during a visit to Bahrain, met Tuesday with his Bahraini counterpart Rashid bin Abdullah al-Khalifa, in the presence of Lebanese Ambassador Hadi Hashem, to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries, according to the state-run National News Agency (NNA).

Hajjar emphasized "the depth of the fraternal relations that unite the two countries" and recalled that his visit falls "within the framework of close relations and ongoing consultation," with the aim of "reinforcing joint cooperation, especially in the area of security."

He reaffirmed "the Interior Ministry’s constant commitment to broadening the horizons of cooperation and communication with Bahraini security services" and praised "the exchange of expertise and coordination between the ministries, which are drivers of security and stability for the Arab world."

For his part, the Bahraini minister expressed hope that this visit "will contribute to strengthening security cooperation and coordination" and reiterated "Bahrain’s unwavering position toward Lebanon, based on supporting its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity."

He stressed the importance of "examining shared security challenges and enhancing Arab cooperation in this field."

Official talks were then held between the Lebanese and Bahraini delegations, addressing several common security issues and ways to strengthen the exchange of information and expertise.
