Why Trump is hesitant to strike Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump had threatened to intervene if protesters were killed by the Iranian regime. According to the NGO Iran Human Rights, more than 3,400 people have been killed in recent days during the largest protest movement since 2022, which began in late December. But Trump appeared to shift his red line on Wednesday, Jan. 14, saying Tehran seemed to have halted the killings and asserting that there would be no executions of detainees.At the same time, the Republican president has not ruled out the use of force, as preparations for a strike appear to be underway.
