The municipality of Tripoli launched a major clean-up campaign on Tuesday along the banks of the Abu Ali River and surrounding areas, following the dismantling of fruit and vegetable stalls in the area, according to our correspondent in North Lebanon.
The campaign began early in the morning under the auspices of the city's mayor, Abdel Hamid Karime, and resulted in the cleaning of streets and sidewalks in several neighborhoods of the city. The municipality has called on residents to keep public spaces clean and to refrain from encroaching on public and private property, under penalty of legal sanctions and fines.
This measure aims to ensure public safety and health, and to find a lasting solution to traffic problems that disturb the peace and quiet of residents.
