An Israeli army drone carried out at least one strike on Friday on the heights between Kfar Shuba and Shebaa (Hasbaya district), a region claimed by Lebanon, reports our correspondent in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli air force also launched a raid on the outskirts of the village of Jbaa, in Iqlim al-Tuffah (Nabatieh), with explosions heard as far as Saida. It also carried out additional strikes near Bassalia (Jezzine) and Kfar Melki, in Iqlim al-Tuffah.
The Israeli army also claimed responsibility for these new strikes in southern Lebanon in a message posted Friday on the X account of its Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, saying that it had bombed Hezbollah "infrastructure in several areas of Lebanon."
It specified that these targets included "a training and preparation camp used by the al-Radwan unit," "multiple weapons depots and other infrastructure," and "several military buildings," without providing further details on their nature or location.
The Lebanese state committed to disarm Hezbollah on Aug. 5, and the Lebanese Army’s plan, presented a month later, calls for the party to be disarmed south of the Litani by the end of December 2025.
Israel is threatening military escalation in Lebanon if Hezbollah is not disarmed. The party, for its part, refuses to hand over its weapons north of the Litani River.
Sound bombs, raids in Bekaa
Machine gun fire from the Israeli site of Ruwaisat al-Alam hit the town of Kfar Shuba (Hasbaya) on Friday, according to our correspondent.
Israeli drones also dropped a sound bomb in the area of Ain al Miyah, in the center of Odaisseh (Marjayoun), as well as over Aita al-Shaab (Bint Jbeil).
The Israeli air force, meanwhile, conducted six raids over the jurd (outlying lands) of the towns of Brisa and Zighrine, in the Hermel area, according to our correspondent in the Bekaa, Sarah Abdallah. These strikes did not cause any injuries.
Overnight from Thursday to Friday, shortly after 10 p.m., Israeli artillery fired illuminating shells around Kfar Shuba, accompanied by machine gun fire from the Israeli site at Ruwaisat al-Alam.
