BEIRUT — Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri sent Christmas greetings to the Lebanese on Saturday, calling for unity and solidarity in a country still facing multiple crises.

“Best wishes to all Lebanese for a Merry Christmas, hoping that this holiday will strengthen unity and solidarity between us and help contribute together to Lebanon’s recovery,” Salam wrote on X.

Berri wrote, “It is through love and unity that we save Lebanon and protect it, as a homeland for all its children.”

This year, Lebanese Christians are celebrating Christmas against a backdrop of ongoing hardship. The country continues to grapple with the aftermath of the 2019 economic collapse, while Israel continues to bomb southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley and, less often, Beirut's southern suburbs despite the cease-fire reached in November 2024.
