Aoun receives calls from Erdogan and King Abdullah II

BEIRUT — President Joseph Aoun received on Tuesday phone calls from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Jordan's King Abdullah II, during which he discussed regional developments, according to a post published by the Lebanese Presidency on X.

In the call between Aoun and Erdogan, the latter affirmed to President Aoun his "country’s support for Lebanon in various fields and its efforts to develop bilateral relations between the two countries."

Aoun thanked his Turkish counterpart for his country’s positions toward Lebanon, emphasizing the importance of strengthening joint relations. According to the Lebanese Presidency, a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed, in addition to the situation in the region.

Additionally, Aoun received a phone call from Abdullah II, during which the latest developments in the region were discussed as part of ongoing coordination and consultation between the two countries.

Jordan’s news agency Petra reported that the call addressed the strong relations between Jordan and Lebanon, with Abdullah II affirming Jordan’s support for Lebanon’s efforts to preserve its security, stability, and sovereignty.

Aoun also thanked Abdullah II for his country’s interest in Lebanon across various fields, particularly for its support of the Lebanese Army.
