Lebanese actor Walid Al-Alaili died suddenly on Saturday at the age of 65, according to local media reports. Known for his impactful presence and a long, rich artistic career, he left a clear mark through his many artistic endeavors.
News of the actor's passing, a star of the small screen, sparked an outpouring of tributes on social media.
Nehmeh Badaoui, president of the Syndicate of Theater, Cinema, Radio and Television Actors in Lebanon, paid tribute to the late artist. "We have lost a dear colleague, a creative, cultured, and internationally recognized star who left an important mark on his artistic journey," he said.
According to the website "Beirut Time," the artist began his career in 1999 with the series "Isar" and took part in dozens of television series, such as "Mahroumin," "Ruby," and "Saladin." He also acted in films and important stage plays like "Al Fajr" and "Anis and Maurice."
Born into a Lebanese-Swiss family, Walid al-Alaili lived in Switzerland during the Lebanese civil war before returning to the country in 1995. He was married to Jocelyne and was the father of two children, Teymour and Shehrazade.
