The Banque du Liban (BDL, central bank) announced in a statement the activation, starting Jan. 2, 2026, of a direct contact line with one of its departments to receive complaints and other requests from the public.
"BDL informs the public that anyone with a question, request for information or complaint may communicate exclusively with the Directorate of External Affairs starting Jan. 2, 2026, either via the following email address: Bdl.ext@bdl.gov.lb, or by phone at 01/750000, extension 5050," the statement read. It should be noted that this extension is not listed among those accessible to the public on the “Contact” page of the central bank's website.
"The Directorate of External Affairs will monitor and review these cases in coordination with the relevant administrative units and organizations," the BDL's communications office added.
In a second statement, this time addressed to banking and non-banking financial companies — exchange offices, money transfer companies or credit organizations — the central bank specified that "the relevant institutions wishing to correspond with its Directorate of Legal Affairs must do so either by email at the following address, or by written letter addressed to the Director of Legal Affairs, with a copy to the office of the governor of the BDL."
