Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Saturday called for the rapid deployment of the international stabilization force outlined in the U.S. peace plan for Gaza, which has been endorsed by the United Nations.

“We need to deploy this force on the ground as soon as possible, because one side—Israel—is violating the cease-fire every day,” Abdelatty said at a conference in Doha. He also reiterated that the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt, set to reopen under the truce agreement, would not be used “for the displacement” of Gazans, but “solely to deliver humanitarian and medical aid.”
