Multiple incidents involving drones, sound grenades and unexploded ordnance attributed to Israel were reported Saturday in several southern Lebanese towns, including Haddatha, Mais al-Jabal, Rmeish and areas near Kfar Shuba, our correspondent in the south said.
A fire in the town of Haddatha (Bint Jbeil) was likely triggered by the explosion of unexploded ordnance left behind by Israeli forces, our correspondent said. No injuries were reported.
In Mais al-Jabal (Marjayoun), an Israeli drone reportedly dropped a sound bomb, according to local sources.
Israeli forces also carried out sweeping operations from Roueisat al-Alam toward the outskirts of Kfar Shuba (Hasbaya), the correspondent reported.
Additionally, a hostile drone dropped a sound grenade near a shepherd on the outskirts of Rmeish (Bint Jbeil), in the Al-Jidar area, without causing injuries.
Since the cease-fire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel on Nov. 27, 2024, which ended nearly 13 months of fighting, the Israeli army has violated the deal more than 12,000 times — almost daily — through incursions, airstrikes, artillery fire, demolitions, shootings at civilians, abductions, booby-trapped structures and the establishment of military outposts inside Lebanese territory.
The Lebanese Army is currently tasked with disarming Hezbollah, starting in the south at the Litani River before expanding north. While the party has not opposed the army’s operations in the south, it has resisted similar efforts elsewhere.
Israeli strikes on Lebanon escalated Sunday when a strike hit a building in Beirut’s southern suburbs — the first since June 6, 2025. The Israeli army said it targeted Haytham Ali Tabataba’i, a commander in Hezbollah’s elite al-Radwan force and a leader in its hardline wing.
