The Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) organized a demonstration on Monday on Hamra’s main street, in west Beirut, to protest ongoing Israeli strikes on Lebanon.
Former detainee and pro-Palestinian activist George Abdallah was notably seen at the march, according to images of the event shared on social media.
The day before, the SSNP had issued a statement strongly condemning the Israeli strike against Hezbollah military leader Haytham Abu Ali Tabataba'i, offering its "deepest condolences to the leadership of Hezbollah, its fighters and the family of the martyr."
The party also stated that "the loss of Tabataba'i is not the end of his journey, but rather the start of a new phase of commitment, until full victory and the raising of the flag of justice over every piece of land usurped by the occupier."
