BEIRUT — The Israeli army carried out a drone strike Thursday shortly after 2 p.m. on Toul, in the Nabatieh district, near Ragheb Harb Hospital. A minivan was targeted, and the attack left at least one person injured.
Unexploded bombs were also found scattered on the ground near the attack.
At around 4 a.m. on Thursday, the Israeli army struck a restaurant in Tayr Filsey (Sour district), located along the banks of the Litani River, without causing any casualties, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent in the South.
The attack caused debris to spill into the riverbed, blocking the flow at several points, the Litani River National Authority said. The authority activated its emergency plan to clear the waterway and protect nearby residential areas.
Shortly after, Israeli warplanes struck a house in Aitaroun's Khanouq neighborhood (Bint Jbeil district), near a house targeted two days earlier.
The Israeli army later claimed responsibility for both attacks through its Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, who claimed the strikes targeted “an arms depot and an underground terrorist infrastructure used by Hezbollah.” He added that “Hezbollah continues to attempt to rebuild terrorist facilities throughout Lebanon, and that the presence of these infrastructures and the group’s activities constitute a violation of agreements between Israel and Lebanon.”
Israel continues to violate the cease-fire in Lebanon through daily attacks and its occupation of at least six positions in south Lebanon. It routinely and baselessly says it is targeting "Hezbollah infrastructure," as local residents the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL often disprove its claims.
Earlier, Israeli soldiers fired machine guns from their Rweissat al-Alam outpost toward the outskirts of Kfar Shuba (Hasbaya district).
On Wednesday evening, the Israeli army fired five artillery shells west of the village of Mais al-Jabal (Marjayoun district), near Mhaibib, according to our correspondent. After the attack, movements of Israeli military vehicles were reported from the Bayad Blida position.
Israeli artillery also targeted the Wadi al-Jamal area, between Houla and Mais al-Jabal (Marjayoun district). Several shells — at least 11 — landed near the Tireh basin, on the outskirts of Houla. A sound bomb was dropped by an Israeli drone on the port of Ras Naqoura (Sour district).
