On Friday, Tehran denounced a “media invention” following U.S. accusations that Iran’s embassy in Mexico had encouraged a plot to assassinate the Israeli ambassador in the Mexican capital.
“This is a media invention, a shameless lie, aimed at harming the friendly and historical relations between the two countries [Mexico and Iran], which we categorically reject,” the Iranian embassy in Mexico said on X, in Tehran’s first response to the accusation.
