Two wanted men were shot dead Friday during an operation conducted by State Security in the western part of the Shatila refugee camp in southern Beirut, our correspondent reports, citing a security source. The victims were identified as two brothers, Obeida and Khattab Abou Alfe. Their brother had previously been killed by security forces.
Without indicating whether they had been killed, the General Directorate of State Security reported the information in a statement, stating that the two men were wanted "under several judicial warrants for armed robbery, shooting at security patrols, and car theft, including the robbery of two Lebanese army soldiers on July 5, 2025, and the theft of an UNRWA employee on Nov. 7, 2025."
The directorate added that “during the operation, the patrol came under fire from the two suspects, which forced its members to return fire. The two men were wounded and later transported to Rafik Hariri University Hospital in Beirut.”
