As planned, the ministerial committee tasked with reviewing amendments to the electoral law met on Tuesday to discuss a draft bill calling for the abolition of Article 112 of the 2017 law. The aim is to allow the Lebanese abroad to vote the same as residents, for all 128 MPs, instead of for six MPs designated to represent the diaspora, and to replace the magnetic voters card with a Quick Response (QR) code to enable remote ballot-casting.
