Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday that Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) "will take on a new form" following the implementation of a law suspending certain ties with the UN watchdog.
"Our cooperation with the agency has not stopped, but will take on a new form," Araghchi said, adding that requests to monitor nuclear sites "will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis... taking into account safety and security issues."
Araghchi also stated that Tehran remains “ready” for diplomacy on its nuclear program, just weeks after Israeli and U.S. strikes targeted Iranian facilities despite ongoing negotiations.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran remains ready to build this confidence through diplomacy. But before that, our counterparts must convince us that they truly want diplomacy — and not that diplomacy is a cover for other goals and objectives they have," Araghchi told diplomats in Tehran.
