BEIRUT — No/Mad Utopia, the gallery project launched last year by Marie-Mathilde Jaber, resides in an apartment block of mandate or early republic vintage. It is a fitting venue for its current show, “Undergrowth,” Ieva Saudargaite Douaihi’s debut solo.The well-known Lebanese-Lithuanian photographer has been showing her work in group exhibitions for a decade. Her photos have appeared in several publications and, in 2019, she released her own book, “Beirut, Naked City.” Her pieces are lodged in the collections of the Institut du Monde Arabe and the Fondation Boghossian. In 2022, she launched Takeover, an artist-led project space that marked two years at its Achrafieh location on July 8.
