Swimmers in Lebanon can enjoy 24 'clean' beaches this summer

It was not in the sober offices of the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Jnah, but in the sumptuous surroundings of the Grand Serail in Beirut that the much-anticipated annual report on the state of Lebanon’s beaches, which guides swimmers to the least polluted spots, was announced on Wednesday. This summer, 24, out of a total of 38 beaches were recorded as safe for swimming.The announcement was part of a larger ceremony dedicated to the theme of the Mediterranean, under the patronage and in the presence of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Environment Minister Tamara Elzein, the representative of the U.N.
