Iran has appointed a new intelligence chief for the Revolutionary Guards, Brig. Gen. Majid Khadami, replacing Mohammad Kazemi, who was killed on Sunday by an Israeli strike, the official Irna agency announced.
"During the years our martyred commanders Kazemi and Mohaghegh led the intelligence services of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, we witnessed significant growth in all aspects of intelligence," praised Maj. Gen. Mohammad Pakpour, the new chief of the Revolutionary Guards, the ideological army of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The intelligence chief of the Revolutionary Guards, Mohammad Kazemi, was killed on Sunday along with two other intelligence generals, Hassan Mohaghegh and Mohsen Bagheri, by an Israeli strike.
"Three intelligence generals, Mohammad Kazemi, Hassan Mohaghegh, and Mohsen Bagheri, were assassinated and fell as martyrs," Irna reported, citing a statement from the Revolutionary Guards.
Gen. Pakpour had promised Israel "the gates of hell" and "destructive consequences" last Friday after strikes against Iranian territory.
