The Israeli military announced Thursday it had struck an "unfinished nuclear reactor" in Arak and a nuclear site in Natanz, central Iran, during overnight air raids.
The air force "struck a nuclear weapons development site in the Natanz region," the military stated, adding that "the nuclear reactor in the Arak region was targeted." The strike on the Arak site was carried out "to prevent the use of the reactor for developing nuclear weapons," according to the same source. "The Israeli air force also struck a nuclear weapons development site in the Natanz region," the statement details.
Around forty fighter jets participated in the raids that hit dozens of sites, the military added. Israel previously claimed to have destroyed "the main facility" of the Natanz uranium enrichment site.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported Tuesday of "elements showing direct impacts on the underground halls" of the site.
