The mediators from Qatar and Oman have been informed by Iran that it "will not negotiate while under attack," a source told AFP on Sunday, referring to a possible cease-fire and nuclear talks, as the Islamic Republic and Israel have been locked in military confrontation since Friday.
"The Iranians have told the Qatari and Omani mediators that they will only begin real negotiations once their response to the preemptive Israeli strikes is completed, while making it clear that they will not negotiate under attack," the source explained under the condition of anonymity.
Furthermore, the source denied reports that Iran had asked Oman and Qatar to request the U.S. negotiate a cease-fire with Israel or to even restart nuclear talks with Washington.
