The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in Kuwait announced that a Gulf Air aircraft, operating scheduled flight GF213 en route to the country, landed safely at Kuwait International Airport after a bomb threat was reported onboard in a statement Sunday.
In an official statement, the DGCA confirmed that upon receiving the alert, security procedures and protocols were immediately activated in full coordination with the Ministry Interior and other concerned authorities. All passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft without any injuries or adverse effects reported.
DGCA spokesperson Abdullah al-Rajhi stated that "the passengers were moved to an isolated terminal and are all in good health," noting that security measures are ongoing to ensure the aircraft is free of any potential threats.
Al-Rajhi also emphasized that air traffic at Kuwait International Airport was not disrupted and scheduled flights continued as normal. Authorities have detained the individual responsible for the threat, and legal security actions are being taken against them.
The statement concluded with praise for the cooperation of security forces and operational teams, reaffirming Kuwait's unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and security in civil aviation.
