BEIRUT — The Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced on Friday the arrest of a person who fired shots at two persons during a dispute in a night club in Koura, Northern Lebanon, on May 14.
"On the night of May 14, a dispute occurred inside a nightclub in al-Nakhleh - Dahr al-Ain, (Koura district,) between two citizens: A. K. (born in 2004) and M. M. (born in 1998), where the former pulled out a military pistol and fired several shots in the direction of the latter, wounding him in the leg.
The owner of the club was also shot in the chest, and the two injured were taken to a hospital for treatment, while the shooter fled to an unknown destination", the ISF said in its statement.
As a result of intensive investigations, the ISF's Information Division was then able to locate the shooter inside a room in a tourist resort in the town of al-Heri (Batroun district).
On May 16, an ISF patrol raided the aforementioned room, arrested the shooter, and seized the gun and a quantity of drugs in his possession: 1.480 kilograms of cannabis - 246 capsules containing crack cocaine - 18 envelopes containing cocaine - a high quantity of narcotic drugs and pills (Captagon and others...) - 500 g of salvia - 436 g of marijuana - cigarette rolling paper, nylon bags used to pack the drugs, money and two cell phones.
Under interrogation, A.K. confessed to shooting at M.M. over a dispute between them, and that he "accidentally shot the club owner."
He also confessed to selling drugs in the Tebbaneh and Mankoubin neighborhoods in the city of Tripoli.
He was taken into custody along with the seized items, based on the reference of the competent judiciary.
