The Israeli army acknowledged Wednesday the use of warning shots after diplomats "deviated from the approved itinerary" for a visit organized by the Palestinian Authority in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank.
"The delegation strayed from the approved itinerary and entered an area where they were not authorized to be," the army said in a statement, "Israeli army soldiers operating in the area fired warning shots to keep them away." It stated that it "regretted the inconvenience caused" and announced that it would speak with the diplomats soon.
