Donald Trump certainly took advantage of his visit to the Gulf to make multiple headline-generating announcements. Along with the billions of dollars in contracts promised by Arab leaders to American companies and his shocking statement on lifting U.S. sanctions against Syria, the White House leader also declared Thursday in Doha that "Iran has somewhat accepted the conditions" for a nuclear deal. This is likely a reference to an interview with Ali Shamkhani on NBC Wednesday, in which the adviser to Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, stated that Iran is ready to accept a deal with the United States in exchange for the immediate lifting of sanctions.
