Syrian Foreign Minister Assaad Al-Shaibani congratulated Turkey on Monday for the "agreement" with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) under which it has decided to disband, hailing a "watershed moment" for the region's stability.
"On behalf of the Syrian Arab Republic, I congratulate the Turkish government and its people for the recent agreement with the PKK,'" Chaibani said during a joint press conference with his Turkish and Jordanian counterparts in Ankara, stating that "this step represents a watershed moment not only for Turkey's internal security, but also for the stability of our region as a whole."
