A recent poll showed that 68% of Israelis favor reaching an agreement with Hamas to release their hostages from Gaza, even if it means halting the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian enclave.
This emerged from a survey conducted by the Midgam Institute for Channel 12, with results published Friday evening.
The results also indicated that 54% of respondents believe that the war in Gaza continues for "political reasons" related to the survival of the government coalition, which includes several far-right parties.
