Amman accelerated its judicial offensive against the Muslim Brotherhood: five years after its dissolution by the country's highest judicial authority, the Islamist movement was banned from any activity on April 23 by Interior Minister Mazin al-Faraya, who said that any affiliation or promotion of its ideology would now be subject to prosecution.In the wake of this, the authorities carried out raids on the organization's premises across the country, state media reported, as its assets are set to be seized. The given reason for this crackdown: a thwarted attack involving 16 suspects. While some have confessed on television to being recruited, the brotherhood categorically rejected any involvement.
