The submission of candidacies for the municipal elections to be held on May 4, 2025, in Mount Lebanon was closed from Wednesday night to Thursday. A total of 1,504 candidates are running in the Kesrouan-Ftouh district according to Kesrouan's caimacam Sethrida Nabhan, who announced it in an official statement. They are distributed as follows: 1,164 candidates for municipal councils, 223 for the positions of mukhtars, and 116 for municipal auxiliary positions.
Regarding gender distribution, equality is not achieved in this district, as only 12.31% of these candidates are women compared to 87.69% men.
Candidates have until midnight on April 28 to withdraw their candidacy if they wish.
The voting will take place over four Sundays across the different Lebanese regions: May 4 in Mount Lebanon, May 11 in North Lebanon and Akkar, May 18 in Beirut, the Bekaa, and Baalbek-Hermel, and May 25 in South Lebanon and Nabatieh. It comes with a three-year delay, due to successive postponements due to the financial crisis, COVID-19, and then the war with Israel.
