Saudi Arabia comes to Damascus' rescue. In an exclusive report, Reuters revealed that Riyadh would be willing to repay Syria's entire debt to the World Bank, which amounts to $15 million. This decision could relieve Syria of a significant burden, as the new authorities in Damascus have inherited a country lacking foreign currency and unable to honor the loans contracted under the Assad regime, overthrown on Dec. 8 last year.With this announcement, has Damascus just played its best card?
