Zafer Chaoui reappointed head of Lebanese National Institute of Vine and Wine

Board members are selected to represent producers "of all sizes and, as far as possible, from all regions of Lebanon," says the newly reappointed chair.

At a General Assembly meeting held last Wednesday, Zafer Chaoui, president of Château Ksara, was reappointed as head of the Lebanese National Institute of Vine and Wine (INVV) for a three-year term, following an initial term that began in December 2021."The last elections should have been held in December 2024, but were delayed by a few months due to the security situation in the country," he told L’Orient-Le Jour.Established by a 2000 law and launched in 2013, the INVV operates as an independent supervisory authority composed of nine members from both the private and public sectors: six representing the private sector and three from public administration — one each from the ministries of Agriculture, Economy and Trade and Industry.
