On Thursday, Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced the arrest of a man identified by the initials M. Kh., suspected of "impersonating a security agent" to commit various crimes, including pickpocketing.
In a statement, the police indicated the Lebanese national, born in 1996, is accused of committing "several pickpocketing thefts and robberies in various regions of Mount Lebanon and Beirut," including the southern suburb, on the road leading to the Beirut International Airport.
The text also indicates that the suspect has a "history of theft, pickpocketing, drug-related offenses, and moped thefts." The latest of these operations dates back to March 31, 2025, when the suspect "robbed a citizen in an incident filmed and widely circulated on social media," the same source adds. It indicates that "during his search, a mobile phone and a sum of money were found in his possession." His arrest took place in Bourj el-Brajné, in the southern suburb, on April 4, after an ambush.
During the investigation, the suspect "admitted to the facts he was accused of" and an investigation has been opened, according to the police.
