BEIRUT — The Telecommunications Ministry on Tuesday announced the opening of nominations for five vacant positions within the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, including a chairperson and four board members — a significant step toward reactivating a body created by Law 431 in 2002 but stalled for years by political deadlock.
“This announcement comes after more than 13 years of the actual absence of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority,” the ministry said in a statement, describing the move as an effort “to revive its essential role in regulating the telecommunications sector and ensuring its transparency and effectiveness.”
Telecommunications Minister Charles Hage said in March that establishing the authority was a key priority for the government.
In parallel, the ministry also announced the launch of the official “Government Recruitment” platform, developed by the Ministry of State for Administrative Development Affairs. The portal will serve as the primary gateway for submitting applications to public sector positions — including those at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.
The ministry urged “all interested candidates who meet the legal and competency requirements to submit their applications through the online platform within the specified deadline.”
