Guillaume Gomez, ambassador of French gastronomy and former chef of the Élysée kitchens, presented Alan Geaam with the decoration of Knight of the Order of Agricultural Merit during a ceremony symbolizing the unbreakable bond between agriculture and French gastronomy at a place full of emotion. The ceremony took place in Auberge Nicolas Flamel, the oldest house in Paris and the chef's first restaurant, in the presence of the interim ambassador of Lebanon to France, Ziad Taan.
A talented chef from Tripoli, Alan Geaam, expertly combines his Lebanese heritage with the richness of French products in a cuisine that is both modern and respectful of traditions. Born in Lebanon, he arrived in France in 1999 with, as he often recounts, 20 francs in his pocket and did not speak French. He began his career as a dishwasher and gradually climbed the ranks until he got his first position as head chef. He bought his first restaurant in 2007, the Auberge Nicolas Flamel. Today, he also has his gourmet table, Alan Geaam and the various Qasti establishments in Paris.
