Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday to discuss a range of issues, from tariffs to Iran, his office announced on Saturday.

“The two leaders will discuss tariffs, efforts to bring back Israeli hostages, Israeli-Turkish relations, the Iranian threat and the fight against the International Criminal Court,” which has issued an arrest warrant against Netanyahu, the Prime Minister’s office said in a statement.

A White House official had earlier confirmed the visit to AFP, without going into detail on the topics of discussion.

A large portion of products imported by the United States from around the world have been subject to an additional 10% tariff since Saturday, but the costs will increase even more starting April 9 for certain countries that export more than they import in their dealings with the American partner. Israel, for instance, will face tariffs rising to 17%.

The announcement of Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit also comes at a time when a new cease-fire seems distant in the Palestinian territory of Gaza, where the Israeli military has intensified its operations, and where tensions over Iran’s nuclear program are escalating.

The American president, who has called on Tehran to negotiate over its nuclear program, has recently threatened to bomb Iran if diplomacy fails.

Iran has expressed its willingness to discuss with the United States but has rejected direct talks under threat and pressure.
