Amwaj is an educational program based on teaching choral singing to children and young people aged eight to 18, founded in 2015 in the cities of Bethlehem and Hebron in Palestine by Mathilde Vittu, a French music teacher, and Michele Cantoni, an Italian violinist. Both were initially teachers at the Edward Said Conservatory between Jerusalem, Ramallah and Bethlehem. Noting that the country lacked a choral school, their passion as a driving force, they decided to establish Amwaj. Led by a mixed team of French and Palestinian educators, Amwaj allows children and young people to access quality musical education through an intensive educational program based on collective singing.
