Hamas is "working with international mediators" to "curb Israel's aggression," a leader of the Palestinian militant group told AFP on Tuesday after a night of intense Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
Hamas "accepted the cease-fire agreement and fully implemented it, but the Israeli occupation has reneged on its commitments (...) by resuming aggression and war," the official said, adding that the group has not yet responded to the Israeli strikes.
Meanwhile, the Families Forum, the largest association of hostage relatives in Israel, urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday to "stop killing" their loved ones after the overnight strikes on Gaza.
"The hostage families demand a meeting this morning with the prime minister, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and the head of the negotiation team, during which they will be assured of how the hostages will be protected from military pressure and what plans exist to bring them back," the group said in a statement. It concluded: "Stop killing them (...) now!"
