Hamas on Tuesday accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of using the war as a "lifeline" amid his political troubles and deciding to sacrifice the hostages still alive in Gaza.
"Netanyahu has decided to resume the war of extermination, which he sees as a lifeline for Israel's internal crises," says a Hamas statement quoting Izzat al-Rishq, a member of the movement's political bureau, following Israel's massive airstrikes on the Gaza Strip despite the truce. "Netanyahu's decision to resume the war is a decision to sacrifice the prisoners [held by Hamas or its allies] and a death sentence against them," the text adds.
