Misinformation has spread rapidly in Syria over the past few days. Reports of summary executions by pro-Assad fighters in Qardaha, along with videos allegedly showing Turkish mercenaries and members of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) firing on an Alawite family, have circulated widely. These claims emerged amid massacres of civilians and deadly clashes between security forces and pro-Assad militias from March 6 to 10, reigniting deep-seated fears among Syrians still recovering from 14 years of civil war.However, many of these videos tell a different story. One clip said to have been extracted from the phone of a loyalist of the former regime and reportedly filmed in Qardaha, actually documented a massacre committed by Assad's forces in Tartous, according to Verify Sy, a platform specializing in fact-checking information about Syria....
